Literature Review on Developmental Language Disorder (DLD) in English Learners
As part of TESL 520 at CSU Fullerton, I wrote a literature review on Developmental Language Disorder (DLD) in English Learners where I advocated for its prioritization as an important and under researched topic in the TESOL field.
I provided research from different fields, including Speech-Pathology, Neurology, and Second-Language Acquisition, to bridge their findings together to illustrate that DLD in English Learners requires further research to identify best instructional practices, including instructional, diagnostic, and administrative. I also provided sample approaches to instruction.
