Overview and Teaching Philosophy
It's simple. If you were a student in your class, would you be learning effectively?
What if you were your student, with their personality, life experiences, and learning style?
Any instructor can bring knowledge, activities, and methods into the classroom.
It takes an effective instructor to identify how the class is responding to their teaching and make changes as needed.
An effective instructor must continuously seek out opportunities where they give their students a voice to collaborate and participate in their learning.
My philosophy of education is that a good educator must be proactive, empathetic, and willing to receive feedback to continuously improve their instruction.
About Me
I earned my MS with accompanying certificate in TESOL from California State University, Fullerton. I have numerous years of experience supporting students from a wide variety of educational and socioeconomic backgrounds, including international students learning English, students of all ages, and students with learning disabilities.
These aspects have helped develop my perspective as an educator in English Instruction by shaping my approach to be empathetic and feedback driven. I aim to bring a positive affect into my classroom and help students develop their independence in English speaking contexts.
As someone who was born to immigrant parents that did not speak English, I understand some of the obstacles that language learners face. I strive to provide assistance to such communities and other communities that need it most.
